KISS

“Kiss” is an American rock group. It got enormous popularity in 1970-1980 and played hard rock. The group is known for its scenic make-up and concert shows being accompanied by different firework effects.
The group was formed in New York in January 1973. Their most well-known songs are “Strutter”(1974), “Rock-n-roll All Night”(1975), “Detroit Rock City”(1976), “I Was Made For Loving You”(1979), “Forever”(1989), “Psycho Circus”(1998). In 2007 they already had more than 45 golden and platinum albums and more than 150 mln records sold.
“Kiss” comes from “Wicked Lester”. It was a group created by Gennie Simmons. The group didn’t have much success and released only one album. Then Simmons felt it was time to have a new direction in music. So he left “Wicked Lester” and began to form a new group. There is an interesting story connected with the name of the group “Kiss”. One of the group members mentioned that he had played in the group “Lips”. Then a question came “What about KISS?” Freily made up a logotype for the group. He draw the word KISS against the burning zig. Then by accident somebody decided that it was the natsi symbol if SS troops. So to avoid any misunderstanding the majority of the group’s albums released in Germany had a special edition of the cover where the letters SS looked like a mirror image of ZZ .
Though “Kiss” is quite an old group their songs are really GREAT!
